Hydrogen Production
Because the best way to produce green hydrogen is through water electrolysis, John Cockerill Hydrogen has developed a wide range of alkaline electrolysers.
Industry
Green hydrogen, also called renewable hydrogen, is different from hydrogen produced from other processes, such as steam methane reforming, various petrochemical processes or coal gasification, because green hydrogen does not emit CO2. The electrolysis of water produces, by definition, hydrogen and only pure oxygen. So there is no trace of CO2.
Mobility
Today, the transport sector is responsible for air pollution in cities and about 14% of global CO2 emissions. Green hydrogen and our electrolysers will help to change this.
Power to Gas
Hydrogen is a fantastic energy vector to balance supply and demand of electricity, and to complement the intermittent electricity generated by solar or wind power.
Renewable Energy
Renewable electricity production, especially from wind and solar sources, is booming around the world, and production costs are falling rapidly. H2 can be used to store and release renewable energy. Excess renewable electricity can be stored as hydrogen and then used to produce renewable energy.
